SPLASH 12 IS RELEASED!

Finding painting inspiration is like shopping at a flea market. You never know what you want until you see it!  Whether shopping for treasures or shopping for painting inspiration, learn to expect the unexpected. On a recent trip to Venice, Italy I expected to see pigeons in San Marco’s Piazza.  I didn’t expect to capture their feeding flurry surrounding the legs of a young lady!  Read the “rest of the story” in SPLASH 12.

2011 TAIWAN INTERNATIONAL Watercolor Exhibition

I’m happy to say 22 American Artists were invited to have their work included in the 2011 Taiwan International Watercolor Exhibition... and I am lucky enough to be one of those asked!  AWS President, James McFarlane, chose artists from among the signature members of the American Watercolor Society. This prestigious show will be on exhibit February 24th to April 24th at the Robeson Gallery, Penn State, University Park, PA.  May 6th to June 29th the paintings will be on exhibit at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center, Georgia.  September 2nd to the 25th the exhibit will be featured in the Chung-Shan National Gallery in Taipei City, Taiwan.

NORTHERN FRANCE

DINAN, FRANCE Brittany and Normandy June 4-15, 2012 Dinan, Brittany, lies on a hill above the left bank of the Rance River.  The town, still surrounded by its old walls, is filled with 15th and 16th C houses that maintain Dinan’s medieval atmosphere.  The cobbled stone streets with many shops, cafes and galleries promise to keep us happily painting for hours.  Rick Steves calls Dinan Brittany’s best medieval town center.  One of two day trips takes us into Normandy... to Honfleur, a picturesque port where many of the French artists, including Claude Monet, painted.  Another day trip takes us to the incredible Mont-Saint-Michel, the rocky tidal island, whose profile we all easily recognize.   For more information contact: judy@judymorris-art.com.
